The retirement age for women will change as of July 1

Starting July 1, 2026, the standard retirement age for women to receive an old-age pension is 62, and the full contribution period is 34 years.
At the same time, the retirement age for men remains unchanged at 63 years, and the contribution period at 34 years; these conditions have been in effect since July 1, 2019.
According to the law, a reduction in the standard retirement age is granted to women who have given birth to and raised five or more children until the age of 8. For them, the retirement age is reduced by 3 years and, as of July 1, 2026, will be 59 years.
Please note that the old-age pension is granted for life as of the date the retirement conditions are met, provided that the application and required documents were submitted within 90 days of that date. In cases where the deadline for submitting the application has been missed, the pension is granted as of the date the last required document was submitted. Processing time: 60 days from the date the application is submitted with all required documents.
To check your retirement age, we encourage you to use the online service “Retirement Age Calculator,” available on the institution’s official website (www.cnas.gov.md), under the section “Online Services Provided by CNAS.” This service allows users to find out the year in which they will be eligible to apply for an old-age pension.
Please note that applications for old-age pensions can be submitted online by individuals with an electronic or mobile signature by visiting the institution’s official website—www.cnas.gov.md.
