Signing of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Slovak Republic in the field of social security
Today, March 26, an agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Slovak Republic on social security was signed in Bratislava.
The signing of the agreement marks a significant milestone in our relationship with Slovakia, providing a legal basis for citizens of the Republic of Moldova who are working or have worked legally in Slovakia, who are entitled to apply for various types of pensions, such as old-age pensions, disability pensions due to a general medical condition, disability pensions and benefits due to a work-related accident or occupational disease, and survivor’s pensions. Each state will calculate and pay the pension in proportion to the period of insurance completed on its territory, in accordance with its own legislation.
Currently, the Republic of Moldova has signed 22 international agreements in the field of social security with the following states: Romania, the Portuguese Republic, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Estonia, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Poland, Hungary, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Republic of Lithuania, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Belarus, the Hellenic Republic, the Italian Republic, the Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Latvia, the French Republic, the Swiss Confederation, Canada, and Ukraine.
