Today, March 20, 2026, an official meeting took place between representatives of the National Office of Social Insurance (NOSI) and the Minister of Welfare of the Republic of Latvia, Mr. Reinis Uzulnieks. During the bilateral discussion, topics related to the activities of the National Office of Social Insurance and proactive benefits for families with children were addressed. The focus of the discussions was the proposal to sign a Memorandum of cooperation between the National Office of Social Insurance and the Ministry of Welfare of the Republic of Latvia in the field of social security, as well as the implementation of EU Regulations and Directives.
We note that the National Office applies the provisions of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Latvia in the field of social security dated July 1, 2024, which establishes the framework of social security guarantees for migrant workers from both countries who are currently engaged in or have previously engaged in lawful employment and are currently residing in the territory of the Republic of Moldova or the Republic of Latvia.
