Signing of the Social Security Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and Canada
On March 13, in Ottawa, the Agreement on Social Security between the Republic of Moldova and Canada and the Administrative Arrangement for the implementation of the Agreement on Social Security between the Republic of Moldova and Canada were signed.
The importance of signing these documents lies in their significant impact on establishing a framework of social guarantees for persons who have worked in Canada and/or the Republic of Moldova and reside in one of the signatory states, by ensuring the fulfilment of the right to old-age pensions, disability pensions caused by general illnesses, disability pensions and indemnities following accidents at work or occupational diseases, and survivor's pensions.
