First Round of Moldova–Croatia Negotiations on the Social Security Agreement

On December 9, the first round of negotiations on the draft Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Croatia in the field of social security is taking place at the National Office of Social Insurance. The negotiations will be attended by experts from the relevant authorities of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Office of Social Insurance and the National Council for the Determination of Disability and Work Capacity.

The purpose of the Agreement is to provide a framework of social guarantees for migrant workers from the Republic of Moldova who are or have been employed and/or reside in the territory of one or both contracting states.

Under the Agreement, citizens of the Republic of Moldova will be entitled to old-age pensions, disability pensions caused by general illnesses, disability pensions and indemnities following accidents at work or caused by occupational diseases, and survivor's pensions.
