As of June 1, 2024 the Republic of Moldova-Spain agreement in the field of social security enters into force

As of June 1, 2024, citizens of the Republic of Moldova who have paid contributions in the Kingdom of Spain have the possibility to use the period worked both in the Republic of Moldova and in the Kingdom of Spain.

Therefore, each state will calculate and pay the pension in proportion to the period of insurance completed on its territory, in accordance with national legislation. Under the agreement, beneficiaries will be entitled to claim various types of pensions and benefits such as old-age pensions, disability pensions due to a general medical condition, disability pensions and benefits due to a work accident or occupational disease, as well as survivors' pensions.  

In order to receive pensions and other social benefits provided for by the agreement, entitled persons shall submit an application to the National Office of Social Insurance at the address, Chisinau city, 3 G. Tudor Street, or to the competent institution of the other contracting state.

It should be recalled that so far, NOSI applies the provisions of the international agreements in the field of social security signed with the following countries: Romania, the Portuguese Republic, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Estonia, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Poland, Hungary, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Republic of Lithuania, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Belarus, the Hellenic Republic and the Italian Republic.
