Payment of social security contributions arrears in the context of end-of-year payments

The National Social Insurance House appeals to all contributors to pay their arrears to the state social insurance budget.
The main source of coverage of social insurance benefits is the contributions paid by contributors to the state social insurance budget. Each contribution paid on time has a direct impact on ensuring the continuity and stability of the system.
It should be recalled that, in accordance with the principle of generational solidarity enshrined in Law No 489/1999 on the public social security system, the contributions of active persons enable the payment of benefits for current beneficiaries. This intergenerational solidarity ensures the sustainable functioning of the public social security system.
The settlement of arrears and making payments before the due date contributes decisively to ensuring the payment of pensions, allowances and other social benefits in strict compliance with the established deadlines, strengthens the ability of the CNAS to honour on time the social rights of hundreds of thousands of citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
We also draw your attention to the fact that, in case of failure to pay contributions within the established deadlines, the legislation in force provides for the application of late payment surcharges in the amount of 0.1% for each day of delay. The CNAS does not wish to burden economic agents with additional obligations, which is why it urges payers to honour their payments on time, thus avoiding the accumulation of arrears.
The CNAS would like to thank all contributors who honour their obligations responsibly, thus contributing to the social protection of the population.
We wish all contributors, beneficiaries of the public social insurance system and their families health, peace and prosperity. May the winter holidays bring you peace of mind and a fulfilling New Year!
